Rauch & Hickey Lead Thursday Swimming
The final championship meet weekend started up on Thursday night with the Speedo Sectional meet in Fargo, North Dakota and the Age Group State meet in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
Sectionals - Brooklyn Johnson posted the highest finish on the day taking 4th in the 1000 free and Mariposa Arroyo finished 8th to reach the podium. The girls 200 'A' medley relay foursome of Alexia Brockmann, Livia Cremer, Chayse Massimino and Claire Wood took 7th and the 'B' team of Sam Mondrus, Arroyo, Alexis Ambrosino and Greta Mikulaninec tied for 19th. The girls sit in 5th place after day 1.
Age Group State - Harper Rauch and Avery Hickey led a 1-2 sweep of the 13-14 girls 1650 to open up the action at the age group state meet. Rauch's time sets a new 13-14 and overall team record and is a summer junior national time. The Pack had a pair of third place relays with the 11-12 girls 200 free foursome of Shima Uto, Petra Andric, Ellery Ekdahl and Madalena Cremer and 13-14 boys 200 free team of Grant Robinson, Tavion Brown, Cristian Banini and Jonathan Li which set a new 13-14 team record. The 13-14 girls 200 free relay team of Mila Chow, Kennedy Fitzgerald, Isha Sonnleitner and Harper Rauch finished seventh and established a new 13-14 team record.
